By now, I think the whole world knows: modern-day russia is totally obsessed with their WWII victory. Like, fully stuck in the past.

And you know what? Some of the old war movies are actually kinda amazing. Total classics. In one of them, there's this heroic Soviet pilot... and he sings a Ukrainian song called "Chervona Kalyna.":
Beautiful, right? Well, not anymore.
Times change. And let's just say... the russian government's love for all things Ukrainian? Yeah, that cooled off real quick.
So much so, they actually called that same song - the one in the legendary film... extremist! Yep. Just because it's Ukrainian.
Russia banned it. And guess what happened?
"OK," said the Ukrainians...
"Well, THAT escalated," said Pink Floyd...
"Fine," said Lithuania...
"We got you," said Israel...
"So be it," said Georgia...
And finally? The rest of the world came together and basically told moscow exactly where to kiss:
The moral of the story?
If you're gonna ban a song - do it with fireworks. Russia managed to turn one old folk tune into a global anthem. Evil loves to look invincible. But it's all just a show.
There are way more good people in this world - and when we stand together, we're unstoppable. So crank up the volume and hit play.💛💙
